Numeracy activities in Nursery WB10.10.16

This week we have been looking at counting in our numercy through number rhymes and counting different objects. Each child took it in turns to roll a dice. They then needed to count the number of spots on the dice ensuring they touched each spot as they counted. Then using unifix cubes we asked the children to count the correct number matching the dice.

Another activity on our maths sessions was to count the ladybirds spots 1-5. Ensureing the child toucheed each spot as they counted to ensure accuracy. We used a mixture of objects that can be moved and we used the interactive white board in our learning. We used the website: http://www.topmarks.co.uk/learning-to-count/ladybird-spots

The objectives this week were:
Develops an awareness of number names through action rhymes and songs. 8-20 months

Says some counting words randomly 16-26 months

Recite number names in sequence. 22-36 months
