How do you feel today?
This week is 'Wellbeing week. We have all been busy taking part in different activities. The theme involves talking about different emotions and what makes us feel happy, sad, worried, confused, angry or scared.
Discovery bottles and massage.
We made discovery bottles using coloured water, oil and sparkles. Then we decorated the outside and sealed the top so nothing can come out. We enjoyed tipping our bottles and watching the sparkles move around.
After this we went to the Drama Hall where the lights were low and there were pretty strings of lights around the room, with a lavender smell which was lovely. We sat in a circle and asked the person in front of us if we could tell a story on their back using our hands. We listened to a story where we moved our hand and fingers over our friends back drawing the smile of the girl in the story, raking the ground to plant seeds etc. After we had finished our story massage we lay down with the lights dimmed listening to music . Then the students who had come to deliver this workshop moved scarves wafting above and across us smelling of lavender which was very relaxing, some of us nearly fell asleep!
We had a calm and fun time!

Cooking fairy cakes and decorating
We have all made our own fair cake buns. We weighed out each ingredient of sugar, flour, butter and eggs. Once they were cooked we then decorated them using sprinkles and sweets to make a different emotion faces. They were yummy!

Emotion Boxes
We have made our own emotion boxes and bags. Inside we are putting all the things that make us happy. For example different animals, hobbies, food and places. We have been adding all the different things we have made this week such as our dream catchers, emotion plates, wellbeing basic needs triangle and stress balloons.Messy Play
We had a great time getting messy. We got to explore different colours and textures. there was corn flour with water, coloured spaghetti, soap flakes, playdough, table painting and mud with dinosaurs in. It was fantastic, messy fun!
Plymouth Argyle and the Fire Pit
On Monday we all went to the field to play games with visitors from Plymouth Argyle. We did lots of running around and playing silly games. Our favourite game was the 'toilet' game. Some of us had to be chasers and when we caught another person they had to stand still with one arm out until they were 'flushed' free. It was brilliant.
When we had finished this we went to the environmental area to explore and make potions. We also had fun toasting marshmallows and drinking hot chocolate.
Beach schools talk
We were very lucky to have a visitor in to talk to us all about how to keep our oceans clean. We had the story 'Message in a bottle' and we discussed what we can do to clean the beach by taking home our litter. We then wrote our own messages to put into a bottle with our ideas for how we can save the environment. After our messages we then got to make our own paper jelly fish using different coloured ribbons and material.
Trim trail
We got to play on the trim trail and had a great time climbing and hopping our way over the course, we were also joined by the year 6 children creating excitement and enjoyment for us all!
