Today we had a crime to solve in Miss Sharps class. When we came into the classroom today there was an area of the room cornered off where there was some evidence the gingerbread man had been there and had ran away. We discussed all the possibilities of what may have happened. He could have been carried away, jumped or hopped in the garden. Mr fox could have been and taken him off. The ideas were endless!!!! It was very exciting trying to work out what had happened to him.
After listening to the story 'The Gingerbread Man' we discussed what would happen if he went for a swim and got wet. We completed a science experiment to watch what happens to him in water. We used warm water and cold water. We noticed that he got very soggy and turned mushy as he DISSOLVED. This activity was great to get us thinking scientifically and to make predictions and discuss what our observations were.
