Mrs Mapps Topic:Houses around the world

Today for our topic we looked at different pictures of houses in Plymouth and around the world. We used some photos from our welly walk of the local area and made comparisons between them and other houses in different countries.

We identified features that were the same or similar such as doors, windows and a roof. We also talked about some differences such as the materials used to build the houses, the shape and size of houses and we even saw some houses that needed a boat to get to that was on stilts in water and houses called igloos made from snow.

We also looked at a map of the world for where we might find some of the different houses and we were able to locate where Plymouth was on a map of the UK.
