Mrs Mee: Lego

Today for our warm up activity the children were encouraged to make a cube structure from the six blocks they had. The children copied me at first by following my instructions then they made a cube independently. This was a great challenge and really got their brains thinking about structures and how to construct:-)
Our main session was based around buildings and encouraging children to create a building that they might see in a town. We had a good discussion prior to the building about what things they see when they go into Plymouth City Centre. Some children suggested schools, shops, pharmacy, tool shop, sweet shop and many more. We also spoke about the common features of these building i.e. door ways, windows and roofs.
Once the children created their building they added them to their team mates buildings to make a town.
Can you guess what building the children made?
