FSR Reading Pets

 All of FSR have selected their own Reading Pets to take home. The children have agreed to read at home everyday to their reading pets. At Riverside Primary School we really value reading and reading daily at home even just for a few minutes can really benefit your child. Your child's Reading Pet can be used to encourage your child to read with you also.

Numerous studies have shown that strong oral language skills are the basis for literacy development. When children learn to read at an early age, they have greater general knowledge, expand their vocabulary and become more fluent readers. They also have improved attention spans and better concentration.
