Numeracy WB 17/10/16

This week we have been learning to count to 10 using our fingers. The activities on our focused sessions has been using bowls and sorting objects each with number cards to 5. We asked each child to choose a bowl and count the correct number of items to put in it. For (e.g.), one child might choose 4, then count their objects to check if it is right.

We are practicing to recognise numbers to 5 and to count the correct number of objects to match.

We have also used the IWB game to help us with our counting and number recognition to 10. We played the Gingerbread man game where we counted the number of buttons and chose the correct numeral to match.
This is the link if you would like to have a try at home.

The objectives this week are:

Knows that a group of things changes in quantity when something is added or taken away 22-36

Knows that numbers identify how many objects are in a set 30-50

Compares two groups of objects saying when they have the same number 30-50
